Sourcing Specialist
The Role:
The Sourcing Specialist role is an exciting early-career opportunity for someone who is looking to build a future in strategic sourcing and supply chain management. This role will support CAVA’s Restaurant and Manufacturing Supply Chain by executing sourcing activities across assigned categories (e.g., food and beverage ingredients), partnering with cross-functional teams, and maintaining supplier relationships to ensure quality, service, cost, and responsible sourcing targets are met. This role is hands-on and detail-oriented—running pricing agreements and RFPs, tracking supplier performance, and helping operationalize change across restaurants and distribution partners.

What You’ll Do
- Become an internal subject-matter resource on assigned categories; maintain up-to-date market and product knowledge to support decisions and project work.
- Support supplier discovery, qualification, and onboarding aligned to CAVA’s Culinary + Sourcing Standards; assist with RFPs, analysis, and award recommendations.
- Negotiate and maintain pricing agreements and purchasing terms; track adherence to commercial terms and verify invoiced pricing versus contract for accuracy.
- Maintain strong supplier communication; schedule business reviews, capture and follow through on action items, and track service levels and performance metrics.
- Coordinate product changes and new item rollouts across distributors and DCs; communicate timing, transitions, and documentation to internal partners and field teams.
- Keep item records current (e.g., order guides, specifications, certifications/attestations) and support product recall/withdrawal communications when needed.
- Partner with Culinary, FSQA, Brand/Marketing, Finance, and Operations on innovation, specification updates, and commercialization timelines.
- Contribute to cost-savings pipeline and risk-mitigation activities by collecting quotes, benchmarking, and surfacing opportunities that align with category strategies.
- Build tools, trackers, and documentation to improve sourcing workflows and cross-functional transparency; communicate project status clearly and on time.
Qualifications
- 2-5+ years’ experience in Purchasing, Sourcing, Distribution, or Supply Chain Management; food service, restaurant, hospitality, or CPG experience preferred.
- Demonstrated experience working with suppliers and manufacturers, strong organization, prioritization, and communication skills across functions and levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Excel, PowerPoint, Word) and comfort with data analysis, databases and vendor documentation workflows. Experience with Arrowstream (supply chain management platform) preferred.
- Negotiation aptitude, service mindset, and solutions orientation; thrives in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with changing priorities.
- Bachelor’s degree preferred (Business, Supply Chain, or related field).
Physical Requirements:
· Ability to maintain stationary position to be able to operate a computer and other office equipment
· Must be able to identify, analyze and assess details
· For certain positions, must be able to occasionally move or transport items up to 50 pounds
· Ability to communicate with others and exchange information accurately and effectively
· Constantly positions self and move about to support ordinary restaurant or food production support or office operations, as applicable
· Ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner
