Overview:
As the Manager II, Engineering at BHN, you'll lead a newly formed, strategically vital team responsible for the Developer Experience platform. This role requires a versatile engineering leader with a broad technical background, not solely specialized in developer tools, to oversee and mature our developer-focused ecosystem. Your team is pivotal in centralizing and enhancing how we expose APIs, SDKs, widgets, and developer tools, both internally and externally. This platform serves as the central hub for developers and partners to access, integrate, and innovate with BHN's extensive digital product offerings.
Your responsibilities involve defining and executing both short-term and long-term technical strategies, overseeing high- and low-level design processes, and guiding the evolution of the platform. You'll lead a team of approximately eight engineers, collaborating closely with cross-functional stakeholders, including principal engineers and product managers, to create a cohesive, scalable, and user-friendly developer ecosystem.
Initially, your focus will be on external-facing capabilities, expanding our platform to accommodate new partnerships and developer communities, while simultaneously ensuring seamless internal adoption to drive innovation throughout BHN.

Responsibilities:

Define and own the technical roadmap for the Developer Experience platform.
Manage and develop a high-performing engineering team focused on delivering highly available, scalable, and reliable solutions in the payments and developer ecosystem.
Collaborate closely with stakeholders, providing strategic technical advice and making informed decisions in a rapidly changing environment.
Continuously identify and implement improvements in technology, applications, and processes, while mentoring team members to enhance their skills.
Prioritize and address technical debt proactively, ensuring platforms and applications remain aligned with current industry standards.
Identify, evaluate, and implement tools and platforms to minimize technical debt and enhance productivity.
Foster a customer-centric mindset within the team, ensuring products are built with exceptional usability and service quality.
Lead recruitment efforts to attract and retain top-tier engineering talent.

Uphold software quality standards through practices such as test-driven development, unit testing, and pair programming.
Qualifications:
- 8+ years of relevant hands-on technical management experience, leading software developers, architects, or systems administrators.
Proven track record of successfully leading complex, cross-functional software projects from inception through delivery.
Strong distributed systems and architecture knowledge, with extensive experience in multi-tiered systems.
Proficiency in one or more programming languages such as Java, C++, Ruby, or Python.
Demonstrated experience leading and managing multiple agile (scrum) teams.
Hands-on experience conducting technical deep dives, design reviews, and architecture discussions.
Exceptional problem-solving, analytical, and critical-thinking abilities.
Strong interpersonal communication skills, with the ability to effectively collaborate and build relationships in a diverse, cross-functional team environment.
Excellent leadership capabilities, with a proven ability to motivate, mentor, and inspire technical teams.
