Overview:

Reports to: Finance Director

We are looking for an Accountant to join our Commerce Finance team. This role sits within our finance function based in our Amsterdam office, which focuses on the development and distribution of our own gift card concepts and experience boxes. From this location, we continue to optimise our gift vouchers and create new concepts tailored for Retail, B2B, and online channels.

In addition, the Amsterdam team manages full external distribution for more than 50 national and international brands, and we serve as the exclusive distribution partner for several major retail channels.

Fluency in both Dutch & English is required for this role.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage weekly partner invoicing, accounts receivable/payable, including dunning, collections follow‑up, and bank transaction processing.
  • Perform account and bank reconciliations, including first‑stage review of key balance sheet accounts.
  • Support period‑end, quarter‑end, and year‑end close activities while maintaining accurate financial records in line with Dutch GAAP and internal policies.
  • Act as the primary finance contact for internal B2B teams, client leads, and partner inquiries.
  • Analyse and communicate client and product performance, and support internal/external audits and tax‑related compliance.
  • Contribute to ad hoc projects, process improvements, and broader financial operations as needed.

Qualifications:

  • MBO 4 or HBO qualification in Finance/Accounting with strong experience in a similar role, strong Dutch GAAP and VAT knowledge, and full‑time availability.
  • Proficient in ERP systems (D365 a plus) with advanced Excel skills and the ability to work independently in a fast‑paced environment.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, with excellent communication skills and a strong customer‑service mindset.
  • Strong analytical and problem‑solving abilities, capable of meeting deadlines and managing priorities effectively.
  • A team‑oriented mindset, valuing collaboration, contributing to team success, and embracing change with a positive, proactive attitude.
  • Demonstrated ability to improve processes, challenge existing ways of working, and pursue continuous development and learning.
