Overview:

Reports to: Finance Director

We are looking for an Financial Accountant to join our Commerce Finance team. This role sits within our finance function based in our Amsterdam office, which focuses on the development and distribution of our own gift card concepts and experience boxes. From this location, we continue to optimise our gift vouchers and create new concepts tailored for Retail, B2B, and online channels.

In addition, the Amsterdam team manages full external distribution for more than 50 national and international brands, and we serve as the exclusive distribution partner for several major retail channels.

Fluency in both Dutch & English is required for this role.

Responsibilities:

Team Support - Core Accounting Operations

  • Support AR/AP processes, bank reconciliations, payment processing, and maintenance of accurate financial records.
  • Assist with general ledger reconciliations and contribute to period‑end and year‑end closing activities.
  • Support internal and external audit requirements and ensure documentation is complete and compliant.
  • Participate in ad hoc projects and continuous process improvement initiatives.

Social Prepaid Business - Independent Accountability

  • Manage the end‑to‑end invoicing cycle, monitor client portfolio activity, and act as the primary finance contact for client queries and relationship management.
  • Perform accurate account reconciliations, proactively resolve discrepancies, and ensure client accounts are fully up to date.
  • Execute month‑end close procedures for Social Prepaid operations and deliver tailored financial reporting and analysis to clients.
  • Ensure timely, accurate financial communication with clients and support continuous improvement across billing and reconciliation processes.

Qualifications:

  • Holding an MBO 4 Accountancy qualification or studying toward HBO Finance/Accounting, with 0–2 years of accounting/bookkeeping experience, good Excel skills, and basic knowledge of Dutch accounting principles.
  • Fluent in Dutch and English, detail‑oriented, organised, able to work independently, and comfortable meeting deadlines in a fast‑paced environment.
  • A proactive team player who is willing to learn, embraces change, and contributes positively to a collaborative “One Team” culture.
  • Demonstrates curiosity and continuous improvement mindset.
